Timeless Vintage Bathroom Features

Some things just never go out of style. At McCaleb Homes we know this all too well. Just a quick browse through our home gallery or our communities and you will certainly see that we have a love for incorporating vintage or historic touches. If you love vintage details as much as we do, then you are in the right place! Here are a few of our favorite vintage bathroom features that you can incorporate into your own home.

Metallic Hardware

“It’s all in the details.” Perhaps you are familiar with that phrase - and it’s true. When admiring something, it is often the details that really bring everything together. If you are wanting to add old world charm to your bathroom but not break the bank by buying all new furnishings, consider swapping out your hardware. Brass accents can lend you that opulence you may be looking for. Contemplate switching out your old showerhead, drawer pulls, and faucet for brass ones instead.

Claw-Foot Tub

Is there anything as romantic as a claw-foot bathtub? These 19th century staples are as functional as they are ornate. With deep basins ideal for soaking, you will surely not be disappointed by adding one to your bathroom.

Decorative Sink Basins

Perhaps the sink rarely even crosses your mind as a potential design element, but it shouldn’t. Swapping out a plain white sink for an elegantly decorative one can transform something boring into something luxe.

Double Spigot Taps

Today the most widely used faucet is a single tap. But there is just something so charming about sinks with separate cold and hot water taps. They feel exclusively vintage and posh. Exchanging your single spout for a double is an easy way to add style to your bathroom without sacrificing functionality.

Although it is easy when you are reading a Jane Austen novel to romanticize the past, much of the past was arguably not that nice to live in. But boy did they have style! How thankful we are that we can emulate the elegance of the past in our present day with these style swaps. For more home inspiration, take a glance at some of our other blog articles.
