Federal Reserve Update - Increases Coming
Caleb McCaleb just returned from the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He is in his 2nd year of his term on this appointment. The national economy is growing at a rate of about 2% even though Quarter 1, 2016 only showed a growth of .5%. The Fed economists feel that Quarter 1, 2016 was just a blip downtown.
Despite being a Presidential election year, the Federal Reserve is not under the control of any political party and is free from this political turmoil. It looks like the Fed will try to raise the Federal funds rate in 2 small increments in 2016. The Fed lifted the Federal Funds rate in December 2015 from zero where it had been for 8 years.
