McCaleb plots new Edmond development

BY BRIANNA BAILEY THE JOURNAL RECORD EDMOND
– McCaleb Homes has purchased 45 acres of undeveloped land near N. Coltrane and E. Danforth roads for $1.6 million with plans to build a new single-family housing development called Town Square Commons.

Building off the success of Mccaleb Homes' Arbor Creek neighborhood off Interstate 35 in east Edmond, Town Square Commons will feature homes inspired by historic houses in Oklahoma City's older neighborhoods like Edgemere Park and Crown Heights.

The development will feature several man-made lakes and a pavilion surrounded by old-growth trees that McCaleb Homes will leave intact on the undeveloped land, owner Caleb McCaleb said.

“We're doing a lot of really nice amenities that are just really going to enhance the natural beauty of the area,” McCaleb said.

With its Craftsman-inspired houses and streets named after the famous works of American authors, the Arbor Creek neighborhood has been a huge success in Edmond's housing market, McCaleb said.

McCaleb Homes has sold about 140 homes in Arbor Creek over the past four years and is in the process of building a second phase of the development with about 40 additional homes.

Homes in the Town Square Commons development will range from about 1,400 to 3,000 square feet. Prices will start in the low $200,000s and go up to about $400,000, McCaleb said. The average price for a home in the development will be about $250,000, he said.
